And the story goes...
03 April 2005: As Tom and I have been taking day trips in the Texas Coastal Bend, I have been seeing a funky white flower near bridges over creeks. Yesterday, we went in search of this flower and found a field of them near a creek bed. These are spring spider lilies, a member of the amaryllis family. They grow in marshy areas in Eastern Texas and bloom from March-May. View more photos of these unusual wildflowers in our Spring Flowers in Texas Gallery. |
